A Festival that sets the pace in South Mumbai

Established in 1999, the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival has grown into Asia’s largest multidisciplinary street arts festival. It began as a local cultural initiative but today draws nearly half a million visitors over its nine-day celebration.
Open to all and free for the public the festival is a place for emerging talent to meet established masters. It’s culture without barriers—raw, inclusive, and electric.
The Location is pure inspiration

The Legend of Kala Ghoda

The name “Kala Ghoda” traces back to a 19th-century bronze equestrian statue of King Edward VII, gifted by philanthropist Sir Albert Sassoon in 1879. A symbol of imperial Mumbai, the statue was relocated to Byculla Zoo in 1965.
In 2017, the area welcomed a striking riderless sculpture – the “Spirit of Kala Ghoda”, symbolising freedom, creativity and the city’s evolving spirit.
For us at Paramin, the Kala Ghoda Festival is a celebration of communication and freedom of expression . It’s the spirit of Mumbai- strong , vibrant and always human.
